Patience vs. Tolerance
Patience is also a form of action. -Auguste Rodin
Patience is synonymous with words such as understanding, endurance, composure, and restraint. Its also defined as perseverance, persistence, tenacity, diligence, and resolution. When we are working for something, patience is one of the best words in our vocabulary for us to have.
Patience means you are going to continue to work hard for your dreams, with perseverance, diligence, and tenacity. You will not give up fighting for what you believe so strongly in. Patience also means you are quite capable of dealing with delays in your work. When you stumble upon troubles or sufferings, you don't throw a fit and give up your dream. You take a deep breath, look straight ahead, and continue to surge forward with renewed resolutions.
But, what happens when patience turns into tolerance? Tolerance and patience are often viewed as one and the same. Let's take a look at what tolerance means.
Tolerance- accepting, lenient, indulgent, permissive, long-suffering.
When patience turns into tolerance; goals turn into acceptance of the status quo. Tolerance means you are adopting the excuse-filled life. Instead of persevering and taking responsibility for the struggles you're going through, tolerance gives you the excuse to be indulgent and lazy.
