If it makes your jaw drop, it’s probably guerrilla marketing

As I work in content marketing, I love being able to let my creative side loose. As I researched, I came across something called guerrilla marketing. I knew guerrilla marketing existed, I just didn’t know the actual term for it.

Advertising can be dated back to 4000 BC where the early Egyptians used papyrus to make sales messages and wall posters. Marketing has obviously developed and changed from just using papyrus, and there are plenty of strategies to use in order to get your customer’s attention. One that I’ve been drawn to and am researching is guerrilla marketing. In the words of Jay Conrad Levinson:

“It works because it’s simple to appreciate, easy to execute and inexpensive.”

Guerrilla marketing involves high energy and imagination focusing on grasping the attention of the public at a more personal and memorable level. Guerrilla marketing is about creating something that will stick with people and that they’ll remember.

They are concepts that think outside the box — but what truly distinguishes guerrilla marketing from mere public stunts is cost-effectiveness. It’s also about using existing resources (and some wild imagination) to engage with audiences and…
